Picking Up The Pieces

What a difference a year makes.

Last year at this time I was  parting ways with a business partner.

I knew it was for the best.

It was isn’t a healthy relationship.

It made me feel bad about myself.  My self esteem was at the bottom.

But  through the tears, I decided that I would never again let someone bring me down.

I owed it to myself to be the best I could be.

And that the best I could be was always there inside of me I just needed to find it again.

I owed it to my daughter

I owed it to my husband.

I owed it to my family.

I owed it to my friends.

I am proud of myself and the strength I found.

I got my mojo back and now I am enjoying success beyond all imagination.

I felt paralyzed by the hurtful and demoralizing words of another until I realized that I was letting that person  control me.  If the person was out of my life I had to get them out of my head.   All those negative thoughts could go live in someone else’s head, they were not staying in mine.

I now look at the split as a gift.

To find the strength within myself has affected all those in my life in a more positive way.

So if any of you out there are in a bad relationship.  You need to get out.

I urge you to find the faith in yourself if you have lost it.

It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself.

And it will be the best thing you can do for those who truly love and care about you.

Loving yourself is a powerful thing.

I like it.

And I like myself.

My Favorite Fall Soups

Though it is going to be in the high 80’s today, I am thinking about Fall.  Fall foods in particular.   To me Fall means Soup and I can’t wait to start making them.  Such an easy way to feed the family.  Some are meals in themselves, others you just need some crusty bread and a salad and dinner is served.

I always try to make extra and eat it through the week or freeze it for a day when I need something on the fly to feed the troupes.  I also love to hand out soup as gifts.  Never heard a complaint about that.

I find all soups to be comforting, nourishing both body and soul.

Here are my top five favorite soups, in no particular order.

1. Poblano Corn Chowder With Shrimp

The Days are Slow and The Years are Fast

Seriously, how in the world do I have a kindergartner?

I feel like she just started walking.

Eating Solids

I know I am not the only Mom who feels this way.

Life has hit the fast forward button.

Caroline started school yesterday.

I cried.

She didn’t.

She couldn’t wait to go back.

I know that’s what I wanted for her.

To love learning and her school.

But it’s going so fast, I find it hard to remember

the baby days.

I guess that is why everyone says to live in the moment.

To cherish the day.

I will.

Always and Forever.
